Boob Jobs in Age of Conan

Those of you who play Age of Conan have surely noticed how huge the boobs of pretty much every single female NPC are. Last night I logged in after patching my AoC client, and was pleasantly surprised to see that the females in the game actually looked normal instead of over-inflated versions of Pamela Anderson.

Turns out, the ‘deflated’ breasts were a bug caused by the latest patch:

Greetings,

Funcom can confirm that some of the female models in the game have had the size of their breasts changed . This is due to an unintended change in data that was introduced in an earlier patch, data which controls the so-called morph values associated with character models and the size of their respective body parts. We are working on a fix for this and your breasts should be back to normal soon. The plastic surgeons of Hyboria apologize for the inconvenience.

So they’re gonna ‘fix’ it back to normal. *rolls eyes*

Anyone else thinks this is a way for Funcom to have some extra, free coverage of their new baby MMO? Everyone knows that males love boob talk and they do want to keep the male gamers coming into the game (no pun intended, heh).

  1. Yeah I have the same problem. Plus it just looks very crappy in terms of the NPCs’ aesthetics.

Curves are fine (I’m not one of those sexually repressed females that abhor every single curvy female character in existence :P) just as long as they’re mostly balanced.

  2. Hm Seems like I missed something since I always thought the models where pretty nicely done, and never noticed any difference in breast size. Nice pun by the way hehe.

  3. Ah just saw the news in Kotaku with a comparison pic. I haven’t played for some days so I missed it. I must agree that the “new” breast size is more normal, but the “old” isn’t abnormal. Big yes, and even though uncommon there are woman with natural breasts of that size. I honestly never thought the were too big but then I may be biased heh.

What funcom should have done was to allow a better adjustment of the size with the sliders. As they are there isn’t much difference in minimum and maximum values, so even if you wanted them smaller there isn’t much margin.
